How to kill civilians
When looking back at history, at the atrocities that have often taken place, there is a theme that emerges. This theme is rather bleak, and speaks to the condition of humanity as a whole.
How is it possible that the Nazi’s socialists could line up thousands of people and execute them. Men, women, and children all gunned down for no reason. How is it that those under the reign of Stalin’s socialist regime thousands were regularly executed, tortured, or imprisoned?
After all, in both instances it was human beings, doing ruthless, unthinkable things to other humans.
For instance, when the Germans were moving forward on the eastern front they were ordered to liquidate all of the Jews. In one instance accounted by a German soldier on a single day a long trench was dug. In that trench hundreds of Jews, men, women, and children, were ordered to lay down head to foot in the trench. Then once they had laid down the German officers would move up and down the trench with automatic pistols ’shooting them all in the back of the head. Men, women, and children. Then the shots would be more specific as any survivors were killed.
After all those in the trench were executed the next line of hundreds were laid down in the ditch, on top of those who were just killed, head to foot to save space. Again the German soldiers would move up and down the trench killing each and every one. By the end of the day more than 33,000 Jews had been killed in this fashon.
How could a human do that to another human? The socialist regime on the other side was no better. If a Russian soldier was captured by the Germans his family was executed, tortured, or taken to the work camps (Gulags). Stalin was so set on this policy his own Son was captured, so his Son’s family was sent to the work camps. Hitler and Stalin both had a lot in common.
So beyond the threat of having your family tortured, imprisoned, or killed.. how could anyone even imagine doing these kinds of things? Why didn’t people stand up and refuse to participate in this cruelty?
The truth is sadly two fold. Firstly I would propose that humans are in fact capable of great cruelty as all of history has proven. How many Americans protested the internment of Japanese Americans? Having visited a former Japanese internment camp, I can say they were not much nicer than the concentration camps. Yet we as Americans let this happen. Why did we let this happen? We were scared, angry, and indifferent.
There was a study done in the United States to see how our citizens would react to orders that were evil or unethical. People were recruited to come and help in a study about teaching.
The group studies were taken into a room where they sat across a wall from a “learner” that was attached to equipment that would shock them. The teacher was told to push a button and give an electric shock to the learner for every question they got wrong. Each wrong answer would lead to a more powerful, and thus painful shock. It would start out mild, and almost everyone was willing to administer a shock for the wrong answer. But as the questions continued the shocks god bigger, and more painful. Eventually the learner would cry out “I have a heart condition” or “Please stop, I don’t want to do this anymore”, or something to that effect. Of course the shocks were fake, but the teacher did not know that. Eventually the teacher would stop and ask the study administrator if they would be allowed to stop. In each case the administrator would tell them “NO, you must continue, this is part of the study, and you can not stop for any reason”.
Sadly, over 60% of the US Citizens in that study agreed to continue and administer the highest level of shock several times. In some cases the learners would scream, or pound on the wall begging them to stop, but they continued anyway.. because someone with authority told them to.
This is the first fold of this ugly truth. People are willing to hurt other people, especially if they don’t know them, or if an authority figure requires them to. This is a simple fact. Now factor in threats against your family, children, friends… How many of us would be willing to hurt someone else to save even just our own lives?
The second part of this equation is the operation of tyrannical governments. Under Hitler and Stalin, if you did not agree with the socialist parties position you did not get a chance to speak out. There was no braveheart moment where you could speak the truth in the face of your own death. Indeed if you disagreed with the party, you just disappeared, along with those close to you.
Entire families just disappeared overnight. This reminds me personally of the movie V for Vendetta, or the book 1984. This was a reality in the sense that the men wearing black would come to your home, put a bag over your head, and take you away. No one would get the chance to hear you speak out, and you would not become a Martyr for your cause because you would not have the simplest of rights.
So this post has been very down, depressing even. So why am I writing it? The first amendment of the United States constitution is the most valuable of all our rights. The first amendment gives us the right to disagree with our government in public. I can stand on the corner with a sign and a bull horn and tell the entire world what a crock the government is. I can call out our president, our congress, and even my local board of education on their errors without fear of police retaliation. This right can not be held high enough, because without it the other ones do not matter.
You see, in Nazi Germany, and Stalin’s Red Army, there was no justice because no one had a voice but the party leadership. Socialism has always been the road to where authority and power are delegated at the end of a gun. Always in history these systems have lead to the executions, torture, and imprisonment of men, women, and children who did nothing wrong, other than think differently.
Today there is a battle in the highest court of the land because Obamas administration wants to be granted the power to prosecute people for giving “material aid” to the enemy. So whats wrong with that? Shouldn’t we stop those who help terrorists. Lets examine what “Material Aid” actually means.
Material Aid is defined as any service, goods, or money given to a group identified by the white house as a terrorist group. This means that even speaking to, or for any group they say is a terrorist group is enough to put a person in prison forever. The list identifying who terrorists are is not set in stone, in fact the white house can change it anytime they want.
Lets think about how this could be abused. The white house decides that the tea party movement are terrorists, without approval of congress, or even a judge they could then prosecute every member. It might not even stop there.. they could also go after the person who gave them a job, the person who rented them a house, their family members.
Its not just the tea party that this power could be used against, imagine we elect a right wing president next, and he decides to arrest every member of the Democratic party because he labels them as terrorists. This may sound crazy, but when you look at Hitler, Lenin, Castro, and the many others who grabbed power to abuse the world with it.. THEY DID JUST EXACTLY THAT!
Less than 35% of Germany’s population voted for Hitler, but within months his citizens had no rights, and his opposition were put to trial, and often killed. When Che (Who was also a brutal maniac) helped Castro take power they did the exact same thing in Cuba. Lenin grabbed power after the fall of the Czars and as soon as he died Stalin took over and did the same thing.
Power is something that gets abused. Look at all of the powerful rulers of history going back thousands of years and you will see that power is more often used for ill, than for good. History is a dark, terrible, murky thing.
We can not let this happen in our Nation. No matter the cost to your friendships, your businesses, your relationships. No matter who no longer wants to talk to you, no matter how much money it costs you, NOW is the time to start exercising that all powerful right to freely assemble and voice your opinion.
The excuse that politics is a touchy issue, or my friends do not want to talk politics with me, just doesn’t cut it. Do not be a part of the 1/3 of our nation that just doesn’t care about your children’s futures enough to speak out.
1/3 of people agree with their government, 1/3 disagree, and 1/3 just don’t care. Political strategy is always spent on trying to tip the balance by motivating that 5-10% of the population who doesn’t care, that would act if their issues were talked about. Thats why hot button issues are the only thing elections are ever about. Both parties are trying to covince the 1/3 of Americans who could vote either way, to vote for their side.
Its not even about ‘political activism”. This is about natural god given freedoms and rights that men are born with. You do not have to stand up and alienate your friends with talk about a political party they are conditioned not to like.. This is about talking to others about your feelings about your freedom. Today is the day when you have that right. Your forefathers killed for that right, and thousands have died for it.
So if you are reading this article I am calling you to the carpet. Where do you stand on the first amendment? What is your opinion of your right to govern your own life, and say what you want, when you want, to whom you want? Take a side, and then let others know about it. What is your opinion of this government? I am not even talking Bush, or Obama, I am talking about the last 50 years of this nations history. Do the younger generations need to know anything from your experiences? What do you really think of the way things are?
Today is the time to talk for our rights, because the day when its time to die or kill for our rights, no one will be able to hear you. We are far from those kinds of scary things in this country.. but that kind of change is rapid, ruthless, and nearly impossible to stop once its in motion.
To those who would call me crazy I would tell you to read the history of Russia, Germany, Italy, Japan, Veitnam, China, Korea, and Iran in this centrury.. not to mention the history of hundreds of other nations in earlier history guilty of the same kinds of things. I would also urge everyone to read the history of the last decades of the Roman Empire that brought about the dark ages.
Being the son of a Jew who watched his family murdered by rampant nationalism, I can attest with first hand testimony that you are not only bat shit crazy, but a poorly informed and unskilled liar as well.

My father, who survived the German equivalent of the flag waving, bumper sticker spewing “Tea Partiers”, to fighting communism on the doorstep of his own home, to later be recruited by the USA to develop and build the missiles that kept cowering scum buckets like you safe for 5 decades — knows a few things about Socialism, Communism and Nazism. He has actually seen it, lived it, and survived it.
He tells me when he sees the tea partier’s in Ft Lauderdale with their crayola signs and slobbery mouths, he is reminded of 1938.

See, between 1938 and 1941, 550,000 of his countrymen (and my family) were murdered by the very thing you are attempting to tie the current leadership. 1. You were not in the camps, and people very close to me were as well, so don’t spout that non-sense as a reason for your superiority. I would also remind you of the blood my family spilled over there in a war that had very little to do with them, which lead to the freedom of people like you! When the Jews were put in camps along with a lot of other people the Nazi party did not like the first thing they did was take away everyones right to bear arms. Our own gun control laws were modeled directly after the gun control laws used by Hitler.
When the Jews were put in camps and murdered the political powers that did so took power away from the people by blaming all of societies ills on a smal segment of the community. They blamed all the problems of their society on the Jews, and they made the Jews out to be villans much in the exact same way the tea party is made out to be villans today. This was followed by a planned terrorist attack carried out by the socialists (Nazi’s) that was then blamed on the Jews, which was the final straw they needed to take power.
The head of the government created his own private military/police agency (much like our current president just did) and then used them to kill off everyone who exercised free speech. This followed by more propaganda and national socialism lead them to try and literally take over the world..
When Hitler decided to attack the Soviet Union he did so against the other man who is known as a villan of the history books. That man who was put into power by Leninist revolutionaries (Socialists) he did the exact same thing as Hitler. The Russians lost more people to that war in a series of a few battles than all the European and American forces combined for the entire war. He was just as ruthless with his people often killing one in ten just to prove a point.
When the leader of a nation decides to classify a group of patriotic (mostly retired) conservatives as a threat to our nation because they oppose his big government socialist agenda, we have a problem brewing. When our rights are stripped away from us in bills like the Patriot Act that allows for illegal search and seizure of our property without a warrant, we have a problem brewing. When the president appoints an attorney general that wants to take away every single gun from civilians we have a problem. When that same government passes laws that demand we purchase something, and does so with no constitutional authority we have a problem. When our leaders pass laws that take money from our grand children who have yet to be born, we have a problem. When that same president decides home grown terrorism is a bigger issue than Islamic Fascism, and then points fingers at peaceful protesters as being violent threats we have a problem.
So by your logic when should we act? Should we speak up when we have no more guns? Should we speak up when we are bankrupt? Should we speak up when every right we have has been taken away from us to form a socialist democratic nation that will surely become another dictatorship… Or isn’t that a little late?
History is full of people who didn’t fight for their rights. Like those who did not beat back Lenin’s group of thugs that lead to Stalins dictatorship. I look on those people with no favor. I look upon the French who watched as the Germans built a massive war machine that was against the law.. but did nothing to prevent it. I look at the free people of Cuba who let communist revolutionaries come into their country and start executing their brightest minds and imprisoning generations. I look upon the Japanese who let their military run government try and oppress the free people of the world. I look upon all these people as fools who did to little to late.
Defending against socialism and nationalism does not begin when the bodies start dropping, it begins when we still have rights. My rights are not given to me by a government, and my nation has a constitution that restrains my government from becoming a dictatorship. My duty, and your duty as a citizen is to exercise your rights and to defend them from anyone who would take them away. Do you think if the people of Germany knew Hitler was going to murder millions they would have allowed him to do it? Do you think this all starts with some General bringing in his army of doom to oppress the people? If you think that you are the one who is bat shit crazy. They scratch away at our liberty one piece at a time. It happens over years, decades, even centuries in some cases. They have been scratching away for to long, and its time we started standing up for our rights before we become the next Germany, Russia, Cuba, Vietnam, Korea, etc.
A government that takes to much power over the people opens the door for future leaders to oppress them. Period. Read history, its very simple.
I will end with my good friend Johns words, as accurately as my memory serves me. His parents met in the camps. Later John returned to france (a socialist nation) where he built a multi-million dollar company. One day when he was on vacation with is french friends here in the states to visit family his competition in France enticed a government official in france to take his company, freeze his bank account, and put him on trial without his presence. They took away everything he spent decades building.. You know why? Because they are socialists, and thats what happens in a socialist society. When he watches what is happening around the country today he says it scares the crap out of him.. because this country is becoming just like the one he left. I agree with him, and I don’t want to be anything like France. France is about the best version of socialism.. but Hitler is the other side of that same coin.

Just a couple of hours ago I was talking to the old man, he is planning his annual trip up. as we were talking about the trip, he mentioned what’s going on in Arizona and now other states, including Florida, and expressed some concern about the whereabouts of his nationalization papers (he speaks in a heavy accent and doesn’t “look like has from ’round here”). he then started telling me that this was the very first thing both the Fascists, and then the Communist did in his old country.
Unfortunately these words have been so cheapened that their meanings have been lost and they are now simply a caricature.
Just for Political expediency (and you are playing a part in that).
The meaning of these words are now so lost, that the very same people who have been accusing every move by Obama, the Democrats, or anyone who supports any of their ideas as “Fascism”, “Socialism” and “Communism” when clearly not, are now the very same people who are cheering laws that ARE Fascist, Communist, Socialist in origin.

I can not agree more that a police state will often start with its immigration policies because it gives the state the right to “ask for your papers”. I personally think the Arizona laws first language was in fact instating a police state in Arizona that gave cops a right to stop people and ask for ID for no reason whatsoever. This was however corrected almost immediately by the legislature when no less than three lawsuits were filed against it the day it was signed. This new language shored up the anti-constitutional language in the bill. What you see now if actually a hidden argument between two groups. One group is in favor of amnesty, the other is in favor of no immigration at all. Most people probably fall in the middle somewhere but the lies the media and leadership is handing out on this bill is crazy. Arizona’s own population is 70% in favor of the new bill, which is more favor than most legislation ever receives. As a former resident of a border state who has in fact had illegal friends I am very aware of the issue.
Groups like the tea party (which is loosely organized on local levels) is more a forum for concerned people to get together and make their voices heard. You will notice it is not a political party, and includes democrats and republicans.. and many many independents who hate both parties. Tea party members opinions on immigration tend to be conservative because the group has conservative values like small government, lower taxes, less government regulation, constitutional lawmaking etc..
Unless we compare our current situation to the history behind us we will be blind to what is actually taking place. Talking about the core values and ideas behind communism and socialism are key in our present situation where our government has become out of control with its spending and its over-reaching laws. We live on the brink of a police state, and our children will be born into that unless we speak out in support of liberty. That is being a patriot, and is not wasted speech at all.
Personally I am just as scared by the Bush era ‘conservatives” who pushed for government spending on faith based organization, tried to give unfair tax advantages to those who are married, waged massive immoral foreign wars for profit, and expanded the powers of the executive branch. This is not a Republican vs Democrat issue.. this is a freedom vs government intrusion issue.
I personally think you have listened to the socialist media to much if you say things like the tea party is racist, and a bunch of hate mongers. . How many tea party people have you met? I am only loosely affiliated and not near as active in their movement as I would like to be.. but everyone in the tea parties I have met believes in personal rights and freedoms.. and that says a lot for them in comparison to the groups on the other end of the spectrum who want to impose a police state on us all.
