The Liberal History Channel
I was a bit disturbed when I was watching “America the story of us”. I kept noticing odd things as I was watching what is supposed to be a short history of the United States. A lot of attention was paid to relatively small parts of our History, with the greatest attention paid to the native Americans and Slavery. These are pivotal issues, but what made my jaw drop was the socialist bent that came across when they talked about the great depression.
I was angry when they said the depression was a result of American’s over embrace of capitalism and consumerism. According to the history channel they “came back to bite us in the butt”. I was also astonished when they started talking about the run on the banks, citing, “Unlike today the government did not bail out the banks” while failing to mention the fact that the run on the banks was a result of the liberal press combined with poor government regulation of the banking industry. It was not in fact a lack of regulation over the banks as the history channel would have you believe, but it was the over-regulation that kept all the banks small and lead to the closing of 600 banks nation wide. If the government had kept its nose out of the banking industry the great depression would have been far less likely to happen.
When you top this all off with liberal newscasters talking about “America was ready for a change and it wanted to fight back” when describing the largest public works projects of the day, it becomes clear the producers at the History Channel are liberal bafoons.
It makes me wonder how many other programs they make are liberally biased, I think I will watch with my eyes a bit more open from here on out.
