Tom Parriello – A second open letter
Rep Parriello,
Tonight, the 21’st day of March in 2010 you voted for the health care reform bill as I sat on my computer watching the stream on politico. As the pit of my stomach became ill with this historic socialist bill taking another step to become law I decided to take a look at the House Roll call for the vote and see how you voted.
I was not surprised to see that after ignoring my first letters to your office, and those of my colleagues, that you threw us all under the bus and voted for the bill. I am not only displeased with your vote but think you should be ashamed to have done it against the wishes of the good people of this district. In your vote you agreed to raise taxes on the American people by half a trillion dollars, when the government is borrowing 43 cents of every dollar it spends. You voted to cut medicare by half a trillion dollars when it already rejects more claims than any private health care provider in existence. You did all of this at a time when one in ten Americans does not have a job, and another one in ten can not find full time work. You voted for a bill that gives federal funding to abortion, making all Americans party to the act! Beyond all of this you voted against the outpouring of the people to start again and create a bi-partisan bill that actually fixes the problems with the health care system. You voted against the advice of medical professionals, against the desires of seniors, against the common sense that says we can not continue to operate this country like it has a pot of gold at the end of an imaginary rainbow.
As a small business owner in your district I can tell you without a doubt that your vote has had an effect on many of us. Your vote has solidified my resolve to see you voted out of office. Your vote has created a burning fire in my heart never to let a scoundrel like you take an honored position in my district again! Today you have made a political enemy of me, and many like me. I will not stand firm not to accept the disgrace you have brought the people of Virginia. I vow to spend my hard earned money, my time, and my voice to help all of those who would oppose you in the next election for your office. We the people have not been heard this 21st day of March, and we will be heard in November, and in 2012!
Remember the 21st of March 2010, the voters in your district are going to hold you accountable or it!
